Being a caregiver can be taxing, intense, and stressful.  Respite, a period of rest and relief, allows caregivers a chance to have a break and take some time off for themselves.  Respite allows caregivers to spend some time on their own, perhaps running errands, taking a nap, taking care of their own health, or visiting with friends.  Respite enables caregivers to refresh, making them better caregivers.
The Tennessee Respite Coalition, a nonprofit agency, provides services to help Tennessee caregivers locate respite care or financial assistance with respite care.
